I think I just want to die.
Hypo and Hyper symptoms can be very much the same.
I have had fast heartrate being BOTH hyper and hypo.
The only difference with me being hypo is that I could sit in a chair all day and not have the energy or inclination to move. Also sluggish bowels and lack of appetite.
Please dont stop your meds.
Also they say it takes up to 6 weeks for the meds to regulate your levels.
UP TO 6 Weeks..........I have gone from Hyper to Hypo in 2 weeks flat!
Everyone is different.
As far as I'm concerned, if you dont feel right then chances are you arent.
You know your body better than anyone.
It does take time to regulate your levels and your meds and this is no fast easy quick fix, sorry to say but I would go back to your PCP and tell him/her that you arent happy with the Endo.See what he can do in regards to finding you another Endo .
Personally I gave my Endo the boot after RAI and TT.
Let us know how you go.
Good Luck.
Find another endocrinologist right away or even go to your GP. Demand bloodwork to check your TSH level, at the very least, and your calcium. It sounds like you're taking too much Synthroid (making you hyperthyroid),and the bloodwork can tell for sure. Unfortunately, it takes 6 weeks for your body to adjust to a new dosage before they can test it again. A high heart rate is nothing to fool around with!
Don't stop the medicine entirely - being hypothyroid is bad, too. And if you stop the calcium entirely, it can lead to serious complications, as well.
As your doctor is acting like a total a$$, find another one right away. Your health is too important to take chances with. You know yourself better than anyone, and you must take control of this situation! Let us know how you make out, good luck!
See, I called again and they say it is not the meds and that it is something else, but how can it be if I never had any problems like this before the meds? Could it be a calcium problem? But if so why hadn't they suggested that. I just think Endocrinologists have too many people on their case loads to care or something. I decided to stop taking any further medication of any kind until the problem is solved.
You need to get your levels checked again as you are showing signs of Hyper (too much synthroid).
This time ask your Docotr to give you a copy of your Labs.
Ask for TSH, Free T3 & Free T4.
Good luck
First... I think you need to RECHECK your DR! Yes, your body is going to go through some serious change after removal of your thyroid, as mine did.. But you need to make sure that your calcium levels are up to speed as well. For your Dr especially an ENDO to say its not related is retarded!!!!!!!!
