The 25 mcg of Levo is a low dose and is probably just a starting dose. The usual procedure would be to have you go back in 6-8 weeks for followup tests and determination of increased meds, if required. I can't relate to those numbers you mentioned. It would be most useful for you to always get a copy of your test results and keep for reference. The doctor is required to give you a copy upon request. If you will post the results and reference numbers our many members can give you the best response.
With a T4 med such as Levo, it takes a few weeks for the blood levels to fully reflect the change. Some patients have reported that they notice a difference in some symptoms in as little as two weeks, but more realistically probably 4-6 weeks. Improvements in symptoms lag changes in blood levels of thyroid hormone, with some taking much longer than others. Patience will be the key.
YOU ARE RIGHT ON THE DOSAGE, AGAIN NEW AT THIS WHOLE THING. THE ONLY THING MY DOCTOR TOLD ME AS FAR AS RESULTS WAS IT SHOULD BE A 7 AND MINE IS ALMOST A 3?
It would be helpful if you would post your lab test results and reference ranges. Also, please confirm the dosage amount. Are you sure it is .25 mg, or could it be 25 mcg?
