Red area around skin

I woke up this morning with a red butterfly looking irritation on my neck over my thyroid.  I've been taking levothyroxine for over 3 years now.  I am taking 50mg.  Most days i feel fine, but lately have been experiencing throbbing or pain in my thryroid as well. My hair has also seemed very dry and still losing quite a bit more than I'd like.  I drink coffee with cream every day and am thinking with the calcium interaction I should switch to black?

I don't have medical insurance right now.  (recently divorced and couldn't afford to continue the coverage).  So, was wondering what options i have and whether it would be prudent to get it checked again?  I have about 30 nodules of varying sizes.  One or two greater than 1cm and they only contained fatty tissue after having them aspirated?  It was checked last May 2007.  Is there anything else I should be doing about this?  Can you recommend a good doctor in Albuquerque?

Do you feel any swollowing problems. HAve you done a neck check? I have noticed when I get slightly anxious I get that red patch in the same area also.  I do feel swollen when I get it.

I agree with Kitty - should should get those levels checked again. Coming up with cash is hard -. I read a while back that Walmart offers a general TSH test with some medical staff present. Not all of them and not in my area yet. You could check that out - but that place would be my last resort. A proper facility should be your best choice and might save you a heap of money just doing it the right way.

As above, maybe the county hospital or local county health clinic would be able to run the tests for a lower price.
You certainly need your levels checked again. Symptoms sound like you may need a dose increase.
If you take the meds with the coffee and cream everyday and always have, it is ok. As long as you are consistant.

You might want to visit you  county Hospital where they can do tests and give you results there at the hospital.  They can then refer you to a doctor to follow up with, too.
