Reduced iron stores but no iron panel

Today the doctor said an iron panel isn't necessary because although my iron stores are "reduced" my hemoglobin is OK. He doesn't think an iron supplement is needed. I read that iron is important to thyroid function. I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian.

I have to wait until January, 2015 for bloodwork regarding my hypothyroidism.

Be careful with the tea... licorice root is notorious for causing swelling/edema.  Some of us, myself included, are very sensitive to it.  I can't even eat licorice candy without puffing up.  My doctor prescribed a supplement a while back and unbeknownst to me it had licorice root in it... I began swelling up and it took a while to figure out what caused it... took weeks to get the swelling down.

FYI

I am currently taking Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, and zinc with Vitamin C in addition to the Floravit liquid iron and Nourishing Adrenals/Recharge Tea.

Nourishing Adrenals/Recharge Tea by other ND at health clinic.
Contains nettle, licorice root, chicory, holy basil, and ashwaganda. Nettle has iron. I attended a naturopathic tea party on Nov. 29. That's how I learned about it.

Hi, I'm doing fine, yourself?

What's the adrenal tea called?  I'm always somewhat skeptical until I can research those things.

Hi. How are you? I will be going for bloodwork in January, 2015 re: my thyroid and ferretin. I've been taking a liquid iron supplement called Floravit since Nov. 6/14. In December I started an adrenal tea from a ND.
