Hi, I was just diagnosed as boarderline hypothyroid tsh 5.6, but it jumps all over the place. between 3.8-to 5.6
I have been very symtomatic for about a year. Lethargic, Heart palpatations(I am on Bystolic 5mg) gained 12 pounds, puffy eyes, dry skin, very irregular heavy period very down, usally a very happy upbeat person. I am not depressed, just feeling lousy.
. Also just was diagnosed with a fibroid(which also may be responsible for the heavy bleeding). I just started on Synthroid 25 mcg. a few days ago
Over the last 3 weeks my hair started coming out. I am very upset. I am a Mom, not a vain person at all, but I am very sad that this is happening, along with everything else.
I have been taking iron so I don't think its because I am anemic. Endo. said hypothyroid at this level would not cause hair loss, and its probably just the stress my body has been under. I feel like no one is really paying attention to this symptom. Any thoughts. Thanks, fg
Posters on this site are probably already getting tired of my bringing up basal body temperature so much: however, I suggest you read my post on this subject and check your basal temp. and get an idea about your metabolism / thyroid . If you decide to do this, please pass on the results to all of us.
Does Thyronorm cause hair loss like Synthroid does?
i came across this post in the midst of many posts. I have the same problem you are having, itchy scalp, stubborn dandruff and hair loss. i also have the symptoms, such as fatigue, depression along with that. i suspect that my dose is on the low side, as while this disease is developing, we need to raise our dose as well. i have raise my dose by 25 mcg just a couple of days ago, i don't see any impact yet, but my fatigue is getting better. also i have ordered the evening primrose oil, it doesn't hurt to try.
let us know if you have making progress and if EPO helped.
I *think* I have read someplace awhile back somebody taking this .. but cannot find it in the archives .... let us know what you find out or if anybody here has any suggestions for her to run by her Doctor.
