yea i am trying to to get in with another dotor to talk about my options. I am leaning towards removing the whole thing. It seems like wait is just that waiting for the size to just get bigger and than have to have it removed i would rather do it on my own terms. thanks for sharing your story!
I don't know why they just don't take the whole thing out. There is a very good chance the others are cancerous also, or could become cancerous. Here is my story, I had four nodules, three on the right and one on the left. I was having hoarseness issues among other things, but I am a singer and this was affecting my voice. I had the side removed with the three nodules to see if it would help my voice. My voice was fine, they did find small .2 mm tumors (three) and the surgeons all urged me to remove the other side which had a 1.6 cm nodule that was complex, not solid like the others. The endocrinologist told me I could wait and watch it and that it's texture suggested it wasn't something to worry about, but I chose to have it all removed (I had hashi's, eventually I would lose all function anyway). I am glad I listened to the surgeons, the other nodule was all cancer, a 1.5 cm tumor. It is a difficult position to be in, I know, but listen to the doctors, get lots of opinions. You can live just fine without a thyroid, why take the chance?
