My last tsh was 6.9, T3 and T4 were normal. I have been but on .25 for 2 weeks then put on .50 after a few days on them my heart started to beat faster.  I went back to .25 but it still is beating fast.  What should i do and is this normal. I'm 34yrs old and female.

Have you actually checked your heart rate when it feels really high?

Before I was on thyroid med (hypo he!!) my heart rate was REALLY slow (symptom of hypo) and when I got started on med, it felt like it was racing SO fast.. in reality, when I checked it, it was beating normally because the med was bringing it back up to where it should be.  Even now, sometimes, I feel like it's going really fast, but it's well within normal limits (often < 70).  Seems like it's a "relearning" process that I'm still relearning......

Thyroid meds can increase HR.  It could be part of the process of adjusting to meds.  Some of us are sensitive to thyorid meds and have to start out low (which you did) and increase very slowly.

Please post your T3 and T4 levels along with reference range that vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.  Are your tests FREE T3 (FT3) and FREE T4 (FT4)?

I think it's probably a good idea that you cut back to 25 again.  You may just need more time at that dosage.  Also, instead of jumping right to 50 mcg, you might try going to 37.5 next time you increase then going to 50.  That's a little easier on your body.
