With all the summer plans - and busy schedules - the pub lately has been -- well a little low key!  :0

We joke around at the PUB and share so much  so I suppose it's important to reflect the friendships we have made with new members and well as the older ones getting closer too.

I have made so many friends here - truely closer than some in my real life.

In fact - many times I would rather sit at this cyber pub chatting with you all - then going and hanging out with others at a real pub! I have laughed until tears unfolded out my eyes with AR's humor and others too.

10 years ago when internet chatting was new - i thought - NO WAY how stupid!!!  WRONG!!!

Now I am a Co Leader on a forum....... what a dope I was. Of course 10 years ago thyroid disease was never in my plans!

So if anyone has any thoughts - get them on tonight.

The pub has been slow lately - but it is summer on this side of the globe.

It is just in the nature of the season that we get busier during this time then in the dead of winter.

I just wanted to post the PUB last night b/c no matter how busy I get - in my mind - I am thinking of this forum alot though my day.

I was always a worrier about other people. Never gave ME a thought ever. now I have learned to care about ME and everyone too.

I got to be honest though - You guys are who I think about most often.  I can't stress enough on getting on your proper supplements each day to maintain your thyroid health and medication.

Cheryl - are you still off the sugar?????

I am a secretary at a school of 500 students - who most of them treat me like their mamma. Parents come to me daily and say Please don't ever leave here my child comes home after getting hurt or crying and always says Ms. Nikki helped me today. My administration team always say she like the mamma here with a smile. Even my boss has to correct me at times and say You  act like my mother  with a smile ( he's in his 60's )  LOL

I love that feeling of people trusting me with the most precious gift of children.

So my THYFAMILY - take care and keep up the great job We are all doing - working on getting ourselves better.

I am sitting here smiling because I found this place.
It is just what I needed. I can come here, and be supported and offer support.

I share my concerns, ask questions, vent, carry on about NOT SLEEPING and I know you guys all understand because you've been there.

I am smiling because I have best friends I have never seen before...all over the globe.

I am smiling because I have met some of the nicest people.

I am smiling because I feel mentally clear today. YIPPEEE>>. I don't feel like someone that has just had an injection of morphine.

I am smiling because the support I get here has helped me be able to deal with this disease. I can not even begin to imagine not being able to come here.

Now I'm smiling reading all this and I hardly know most of you.  At least not yet.  
This is a wonderful place to connect with all of you from all over the world and the best part is I don't even have to get dressed for it.  I could post in my undies if I choose.  I don't...but I could.  Got to love that.  No dress code.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes I've received, and support.  I look forward to getting to know you.

In response to the theme of this thread - I would never have thought in my wildest dreams that
a) I would be having thyroid problems, and
b) that I would be sharing my worries, thoughts, opinions, questions, fears, highs, lows,  
    laughter, tears, insights, advice, hopes and dreads
with people I have never met, around the world, and here in the UK and to feel that I belonged to a community of the most caring individuals I have had the pleasure to encounter.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!**CHAMPAGNE ALL ROUND**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got back from my meeting with surgeon to discuss the results of my scan last week and (although I can't remember the exact wording), the gist of it was that the remaining thyroid lobe was not showing anything unusual during the uptake scan. He said thaat he will now put the reports to the team at the cancer centre who he works with and get their opinions and recommendations but he thinks that they will recommend no need for further surgery but just regular monitoring.
There is a 'slight' chance that they may still say that because of my age/history that a completion should be done but he really doesn't think so.
So what do you reckon?????

I only wish I found this site sooner!  (and I know my husband does).  I am so thankful for all of my friends here that understand what I am going through!!!  I would have never thought I would get excited every day to log onto a medical website!!  Although, I do!!!!  Thank you for all of you that listen to me and help me.  It's 10:22 am here in Tampa.  I am getting ready to jump in the pool and get my swim in for the day.  I will miss my window of opportunity if I don't go now.  We are having bad, bad thunderstorms every day!!

Hello everyone...feeling a little silly?  well, make sure no one is around to see you.  Ok, all clear?  Stand up  and, Put your right foot in, put your right foot out, you put your right foot in and you shake it all about, you do the hokey pokey and you shake it all about, "that's what its all about"!    That's what this board has done for me.  You have taken me from a petrified person, knowing nothing about Hypothyroidism  to someone who is eager to learn all that I can and finally after a year, being able to be a little silly again!!!!  I still have my daily moments...but I pop on here and you help me so much.

So, here's to being a little silly for, we have eachother.  Don't shatter this for me, I am giggling just thinking about all of us, across the globe, taking a minute and standing in front of our computers and shaking it all about!  Just don't spill your drinks from the pub.
