TSH level of 75 @ 74 years old

Please help!
My grandmother came to visit me from Europe and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in US
a week ago. She wants to fly home, but the doctor told me that she might not make it through
the flight. She does not have any symptoms, her TSH is 75, T3 - 2.14, T4 - 0.69.
Can she fly with this condition? The flight is more than 15 hours?
Thanks for any info.

P.S. the doctor also said that she might go in to myxedema coma in the middle of the flight.
I don't know what to do.

Has the Doctor put her on medications for this? What symptoms is she having? I do know England medicine is very different then here with thyroid issues. Was she treated in England for her hypothyroid? When did she fly into the states?

Sorry about all the questions. Just trying to understand her situation.

Oh my goodness, I think I am just going to go to bed--I'm exhausted.

I can't sleep at nights and its making me weak...I totally did not see the age you said your grandmother was...

Sorry for the duplicate posts. I'm not sure what happened.

I'm not sure how old she is, but at her age, it is probably a little different.  If she travels, she should be very careful.  Long flights like that are so hard on the body.

I can tell you that there have been people on this forum whose TSH level was up to 600 and they never went into coma.  When I started my problems with hypothyroid, my TSH was 98 and I was not close to myxedema coma as I went to the ER and they sent me home with 100 mcgs of synthroid.  I really doubt, especially if she is not having symptoms, that she will go into a coma at her TSH level.  I hope they have started her on meds, though.  I am no doctor, but I think the doctor you are seeing is scaring you unnecessarily.  Just make sure she starts her meds now and stays on them until she gets home.  Best of luck.
