anyone help please

I have been having off and on hoarseness since i was diagnosed graves in mid-June. Sometimes along with hoarseness the side of my neck hurts on the side that has the goiter. If you had an ultrasound and they found no defined nodules is that basically it, or can they develop where you would need another ultrasound? Many sites say hoarseness is a sign of cancer, so it scares me. Any comments?

thanks GW

Yes on PTU, thanks for the response. I thought it may be the meds but then I read those sites!! too much info out there sometimes

I heard you were the one to ask, any suggestions on how i can stop gaining weight with graves??? I am crying every day that i get on the scale. I never lost with it, just keep gaining, i have one pair of pants that fit me for the fall. and spent a bucket load of clothes on a job i didn't end up getting now they are all tooooooo small. I will have to hit some thrift stores soon, cause money is a precious commodity these days and will have to go into my office naked soon. I have tried weight watchers, starving myself. little means several times a day, exercise, even tried running again, EXHAUSTED!!

terribly unhappy at the moment, can you tell.!!

any advice would be much appreciated. and thanks for the relief about the hoarseness.

I know those sites say cancer - many need to say that just to cover themselves too.

If you are worried about that and FNA would be needed. Has anyone suggested getting on after your US?

Are you on PTU's for the Graves? Meds can cause the hoarseness too along with the swelling from the goiter.

I have two years of hoarseness (weird voice) while in graves mode then after RAI with hypo Hashi.

Now that I am somewhat balanced - it is gone.

Go back to traditional therapy too. sea salt garggles are great and soothing. even let some of it go down. It helps the shrinking of the swelling alot.
