Thyroid Calcification

Hi, I'm 30 years old and last year my doctor found a nodule on my thyroid.  My blood work showed that I have Hashimoto's disease.  I was suffering from fatigue and heart palpitations.  My thyroid was biopsied and showed that it was benign.  I just recently had another ultrasound  and this ultrasound showed calcification on the nodule. My doctor said I will have to go for another biopsy.  Is calcification a strong indication of cancer?  Should I have my thyroid gland removed?  What is the link between hashimotos and thyroid cancer? I'm a mother of two and am very nervous and want to make sure I am doing everything posssible  to be healthy.  Thank you for any help with my questions.

Not to scare you or anything but if this were me. Get the whole thyroid OUT! Mine had calcification as well as colloid cells. My tumor had ecapsulated. I am the same age as you. I am not a huge beleiver in the Biopsey thing. But after Radio Active Iodine and two surgeries later I am still not "Cured". It is not a bad thing!! It is just a pain in the neck!!! I would personally not mess with the lets watch and wait or supress it thing just have it taken out and you will KNOW!!!
Best of luck!

The coarse [egg-like] calcification is not necessary means cancer, but the 'fine ' calcification of the nodule should be inestigated.
