Thyroid Disorders

Hello i am an 45 year old female from Albania, and two years before i completely removed the thyroids. I take Letrox 100 every day on an empty stomach in the morning. I don't know if this has to do with the fact that i removed the thyroids, but when i get nervous and speak angrily, i feel my neural pressure raising and my and my throat hurts, other bothering effects are that i forget things and i cant concentrate, but i used to be a very skillful person. I don't know if i explained my problem clearly, but i want to know if these disorders come from the thyroid removal. I am waiting for your response. Faithfully Rita.

You must educate yourself on hypo symptoms. Seems like you may not be getting enough hormone treatment. Always keep copies of your thyroid labs and learn them. Most docs are steadfast on the TSH level and if it is normal, they will assume that you are feeling okay, but that's not the case in alot of patients. The most important test to determine how a patient feels is the FT3 and the FT4, which most docs will not test if the TSH is in range. You have to become your on advocate in this matter. Request these two tests and then post them on this site, where you will get responses. If the results in these two tests are low in range, that is more than likely where the problem lies.

I just found out that I need to have my thyroid removed and I am pretty scared about the whole process.  My thyroid is sitting in my air passage and has pushed away my jugular vein and carotid artery and my sternocleindomastoid muscle whatever that is but anyway I am terrified, any suggestion to help me overcome my fears. Or on what will be different after the surgery?
