Before commenting further, if you have a copy of the lab report, please check that T4 result. It appears to me that either that is a Free T4 result, with a range for Total T4, or else the result is wrong. Also, don't recognize the range for the T3 test. Is that supposed to be Free T3 or Total T3?
TSH 178 ranges 0.358-3.74
T4 0.8 ranges 4.7-13.3
T3 28.0 ranges 33-44
tsh was 178 ranges 0.358-3.74
t4 0.8 ranges 4.7-13.3
t3 ranges33-44
these were all low, i'm confused on the tsh but that was the number that was extremely low according to the endo dr. still taking 125 mcg daily, still have diarrhea and sleep issues
That starter dose from zero borders on malparactice!
That is the largest single s tarter dose I've ever heard about.
yes it is true your body needs to adjust and many people will actually feel WORSE intially after starting thyroid. But that is even with starter doses SIGNIFICANTLY below what you've been prescribed.
As stated above most starter doses are not above 50 mcg. some sensitive people must even start on less than 25 mcg a day. So as stated 250 mcg is just absolutely enourmous!
As stated by gimel. Please post your lab results and be sure to include the reference ranges which usually appear in parenthesis to the right of you test result.
That is an enormous starting dose of Synthroid. The usual starting dose is 25 - 50 mcg. I'm not sure your body can adjust any time soon. Please post your thyroid related test results, and related reference ranges, that caused your doctor to respond that way.
