i would have it removed dont keep prolonging it like i did
Update: got the results back which showed atypical follicular cells. Pretty much: not a diagnosis. They want to do a repeat FNA which means that I'll have about another month of waiting until we have answers (IF we get answers)
Just an update for anyone out there -- Heard from my doctor today and learned that they sent out my results for confirmation and that I probably won't know the result for another 5 business days. Cheers to the waiting game.
Forgot to mention the IIA lymph node was marked for enlargement (by the CT scan) but I have absolutely no clue what that means
Thanks - I had the FNA yesterday and am definitely feeling not so pleasant after effect. Results should be to me by Friday (fingers crossed they don't make me wait another weekend)
The risk of cancer is 25% IF accompanied with abnormal lymph nodes.
Thanks for the tip of the broccoli and cauliflower - I've had some significant swelling and will definitely see if this helps take it down a bit!
i have multi nodular goiter for years--do sono's regularly--take PTU 50 mg x2 a day now. as long as i can swallow and breathe i refuse to have a working major organ tampered with. Cauliflower and broccoli and all cruciferous vegetables helps shrink them and or keep them at bay for me and many others. Am told raw is best. Some days I feel the nodules and goiter with or without discomfort some days not at all. Flare up are from stress, you name it. Medical science just doesn't have many favorable options for thyroid issues. They make suggestions and it's up to us to do our homework after of course getting regular lab work, sono's and remember how you feel is also a dx even though most Endo's say not. Be well. *Barb in NY :)
