FYI - flyingfool is not a lady...
Most of the websites, especially, any with forums, are competitors of MedHelp and can't be posted here. Just do a search for hypothyroidism and/or Hashimoto's you'll come up with tons of information.
Thanks ladies, I have an endocrinologist appointment coming up and want to as informed as I can before then. Will check these out.
Are there any websites that would be helpful to read up on.
Most recent book I've read that explains and agrees with almost every single thing that I have learned about and or experienced over the last several years is:
"Hypothyroidism, Health & Happiness: The Riddle of Illness Revealed" By: Steven F. Hotze
Just so you know, this book is biased towards natrual dessicated thyroid. But the book will clearly explain why for the most part and certainly for some people synnthetic T4 only is NOT sufficient.
It also gets into other hormones and how they interpay and even how diet affects the absorption of certain things through the gut and how/what the gut lets through can affect thyroid metabolism.
The book is a pretty easy read and not overley technical or anything.
I've read about a dozen books from my local library but three that I like...
Running On Empty by Robyn Koumourou
Your Thyroid Problems Solved by Dr Sandra Cabot & Margaret Jasinska ND.
The Everything Guide to Thyroid Disease by Theodore C. Friedman & Winnie Yu Scherer
