Hi. I've had low vit d and been supplementing gorgeous over 2 years. Started at a 9 and now around 40.
I had a borderline high serum calcium recently (10.0, 10.1 starting high).
I asked my PCP to run it again and include a pth -- high calcium and low vit d. Was told no because my albumin level was above 4 so it countered the high calcium.
What I didn't know was the albumin level was from May when my calcium was 9.6 and there was no albumin checked when the calcium was 10 in December. I also had high urine calcium at this time.
So, do I need to recheck levels since the albumin wasn't checked at the same time. I read that albumin under 4 means you need to adjust the serum calcium higher. If it's over 4 do you have to lower, or it doesn't matter at that point?
Thanks.
