Hello Dr.
I am a 35-year-old female, who over the years has gained about 80lbs (over 8.5 years). I eat very healthy; have a 2.5 yr old toddler, so I am active. I always thought that my Thyroid was to blame for my hair loss, missing periods (in the last couple of years), getting depressed, severe migraines, hairy legs and arms, feeling very tired ( I don’t sit around , but keep pushing myself to do things), heat intolerance etc. However my thyroid test (taken in the last year) results all came back normal. I have had my gall bladder removed and now it seems like I have some sort of a Nodule (un-diagnostic so far) on my thyroid. My OBGYN Suggested that I don't get pregnant, until the thyroid problem has been taken care of and is asking me to go see my Primary. My primary doc is telling me to see my OBGYN. Can I assume that the nodule on my thyroid is to blame for my missing periods and weight gain? Why are my test results coming back normal? Even a Nuclei Iodide scan came back normal? does that mean I don't have cancer? Or could there be something going on with the pituitary gland?
Thank you for your help!
