I see. Going to my endo is what I consider an "easy" doctor's appointment. The nurse weighs me and takes my BP and pulse. I wait around for a while until the doctor is ready, and then it's mostly talking. We review my labs, what I'm taking for meds, symptoms or lack thereof. The only physical part of the exam is palpating your thyroid to feel for enlargement (goiter) or nodules, both of which are very common. You'll probably be asked to swallow a sip of water while the doctor feels your thyroid. He gives me a new script or not, and off I go.
I am wondering what to expect if I go there. Haven't been to an endo before, only been to gp.
Checking weight is part of just about every doctor's visit I've had lately. Thyroid dysfunction tends to have symptom of weight loss or weight gain, so it's logical to get your weight at every appointment. I sense there's more to this...
