TSH 0.022 and dropped meds?

Ok, its been a while. Lots have happened. I had a thyroidectomy. Tried the meds and subsequently broke out in hives and stopped breathing.RAI was not an option in my very hyper state at that point. heart tests were not showing good responses and bloodpressure sky high. Needless to say,had the surgery and was out of work for 2 months. Was in pretty bad shape.

Almost 2 years later, they have been battling with my levels this hole time. I feel like I have the flu. My chest hurts, my heart flips out, I am gaining weight (25 lbs so far) I am on 150 mcg of synthroid. Doctor took blook a few days ago and sent me back a script decreasing my synthroid to 137 mcg. TSH 0.022 and limits .35 - 5.5. Now, here is my question. 0.022 would mean to raise the amount, correct?

This thread is very old and it's unlikely previous posters will respond to your comment.

That said - you have it backwards.  The poster's TSH (0.022) is very low.  Unfortunately, TSH is not always indicative of actual thyroid hormone levels.  In order to be sure of what's going on, the doctor should have ordered Free T4 and Free T3, which are the actual thyroid hormones to see if they're adjusted properly.

For instance, my own TSH stays suppressed at < 0.001, but my  thyroid hormones are actually on the low side, as well.

The doctor won't call you back??!?

I think you're making this up. :/

Just kidding. :-I

Yah, your dose of 150 is making you hyper. You needed a lower dose. Sorry you have been having so much trouble with getting your meds right.

Took me a bit to re read material... hmmm

Conversely, when serum thyroid hormone concentrations are decreased, secretion of TSH and TRH is increased.. My TSH is low showing hyper but it doesn't feel like it did. If I decrease synthroid it will increase the TSH.Sorry for taking someones time to read when researching a bit more because the doctor won't call me would have helped.
