Are your comments not posting ?

I have had multiple instances of my responses to forum questions not posting when I click on submit, and getting an error message that says "Failure to save message" (or comment, I forget) This is SO frustrating and I have NO idea why it's happening. I have contacted Admin 4 times about it with no response...when I go to do THAT, it says I need to input a valid email address, even though my email address is correct. I have to delete it and re-enter it, sometimes several times, before it will go through. It's making me not want to participate anymore because I've spent valuable time transmitting information, only to have had it lost. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I just read in the Community Leader's Group, that the engineers have isolated the issue and hope to have it fixed next week.

Yes, you're right; most of the time (hasn't work for every time) you can hit the back arrow, copy your post, then paste into your WP program.  Then copy/paste in sections, as I noted above.

Actually, I thought I had mentioned the back arrow to retrieve your post, on this thread, but it must have been a different community that I posted that in.  Sorry about that.

It is a hassle, but for now, it's the only option we have, until MH gets the glitch fixed.  I haven't been able to find out whether or not they are going to keep us to 2000 characters or if they're going to go back to the previous 6000.

Barb, I did have trouble with a long comment last three days. I just split the comment in three parts and it posted. So, yes, long posts maybe are limited- but it doesn't tell you that. Just said something like comment was lost.

So I back arrowed,  it appeared again, saved it on word, and copied / posted in three parts. Worked, but a hassle.

Good luck at the new endo, I know how you feel. I've wasted the last 7 months and countless $$ trying to find someone who gets it----I hope this works out for you. How high is your RT3? Mine is so much lower than the Sept test to now and still working on why on my own. I have 2 appointments in Jan and Feb, one an endo and one a DO, hoping that between the 2 of them, one of them will be good!! Again, good luck to you :)

Jackie, "bemoan" was perhaps not as seriously meant as you might think ! Rather a figure of speech. Are you still having trouble ? I will try again next week if so, and perhaps the problem will be fixed. I am seeing a new endo {{{{shudder}}}} tomorrow about my own rT3 situation, so maybe I will have more to share. He is a doctor recommended to me through a person on thyroidchange.org, wheo stated that he prescribes T3 only if necessary, and his office states that he deals with rT3 issues. I hope so. So browbeaten by endos at this point.

Barb, thanks so much for following up on this. Very very helpful. I am practically computer illiterate and am on a Mac, so I don't really know how to do a word count in Pages or to transfer it to MedHelp. I am so dumb, but am alway learning.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I know I am always grateful for this forum.

I thank you for spending all that time to respond to me here- and it stinks for both of us that all you wrote to me was wiped out, but I must say, I did not once "bemoan" not getting responses as you stated. I appreciate any and all info I get here and it's too bad all you posted to me didn't make it on here!

"If I knew how do do as you suggest, I guess I would but I don't."

Type your comment into a word processing program and there should be a place on the tool bar that lets you keep track of the characters (including spaces) that you've typed - will depend on your WP program as to how to find that feature.  In Microsoft Word 2007, click on the "Review" tab, then click on "Word Count"; when that box opens, it will also tell you how many characters you've typed.  Once you've got your post typed, save it, then copy/paste it to MH, just like you would anything else. Once you've saved it, you can retry, if it doesn't post.

Huh, now it won't highlight and enter your name, we'll see if THIS posts. Wouldn't it be nice if rules were posted when things are changed ? Or would that be too civil ? Instead, wasted hours and people who need responses left hanging. One person was bemoaning the fact that there were no responses when in fact I'd tried several times to answer her questions about rT3

I've had issues with short posts as well. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone := \ If I knew how do do as you suggest, I guess I would but I don't.

PS, just flopped me to "sign in" when I was already logged in and linked to this post through my emails. Trouble in paradise.

There's been an issue with MH when long posts are submitted.  From what I understand they've lowered the character count from 6000 to 2000/post and if your post is longer than that, it won't post, though I've had issues with even very short posts, so they may have multiple problems.

I recommend that you type your posts in a word processing program and keep a count of the characters.  Longer responses may have to be posted in multiple posts.

I haven't heard yet, whether or not the 2000 character limit is to be permanent.
