RAI and Pets

Hi all,
I've come across the question on whether or not it's okay to be around pets after RAI uptake, my endo told me that it was fine and not to be worried about it.  What did your doctors say?  I have spent limited time with them though, just to be on the safe side.

Also I have recently found a site on thyroid disorders that answers many questions, just thought I would share.  Thanks for reading and responding.

Mellowscout...out of isolation tomorrow!! RAI 8/28/09 and mommy to two kitties and one dog =)

Treat your pets just like you would a small child and isolate yourself from them as much as possible.  Don't let them lick you (the radiation is secreted through bodily fluids - including sweat).  Don't let them sleep with you.

This was the most difficult part of the RAI for me (and my dogs) and it just broke my heart to make them sleep on the floor but I didn't want to kill off their thyroids.

Best of everything!

HI and WELCOME .. isn't that a wonderful site you shared?!!!!!   I love it a lot and have relied on it heavily when I had my partial done 3 yrs ago.  I believe parts, if not that one, are in our health pages so feel free to take a look around and add to it or if it's there already then this is even more exposure!

T minus 1 day for you!

Wish I had an answer on your pet ? but I didn't have RAI .. long story but my other side is still in and my micro's were tiny tiny tiny incidental findings.
