thyroid ultrasound results

Just got these results. Blood test normal. Scheduling ultrasound biopsy. How concerned should I be?
Thyroid is at the upper limits of normal for size with the right lobe measuring approximately 5.3 x 2.2 x 2.0 cm and the left lobe measuring approximately 5.3 x 2.0 x 2.2 cm. Isthmus measures 2 mm at the midline. Parenchymal echogenicity is heterogeneous. Along the lateral right mid lobe is an approximately 2.2 x 1.1 x 1.0 cm heterogeneous mass. Within the inferior right lobe is a less clearly defined mildly lobulated 1.9 x 0.9 x 1.3 cm hypoechoic nodule with a coarse central calcification. Along the mid left lobe is an approximately 3.0 x 1.7 x 2.0 cm heterogeneous solid nodule with a coarse central calcification and scattered cystic degeneration. Adjacent to the inferior edge of this nodule is an approximately 0.9 x 0.7 x 1.0 cm mildly hypoechoic nodule. No abnormal anterior cervical adenopathy to indicate malignancy.

Hi Terry...Unfortunately, reading ultrasounds is not my one of my best things.  Is there an "impression" at the bottom of the report, that gives recommendation for followup?  This is what tells whether the radiologist thinks there should be an FNA.

Calcification can be seen in both benign and malignant nodules.  However, according to NIH, calcification within a nodule increase the chances of malignancy.

It's important to note that < 5% of all thyroid nodules are cancerous and that thyroid cancer is one of the easiest to cure, since it's removed with the thyroid.

Can you tell us what your actual thyroid hormone levels are?  Please provide reference ranges, which vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own report.

Also, please tell us what symptoms you have and prompted the ultrasound.
