tsh way too high?

my daughter (17 yrs)  went in because of hypo complaints, tsh came in at 274.317,, just got t3, t4,, came in at (t3, 1.5) (t4,  .3).   these are low,, but detectable.   we are waiting on the tsi testing.
she was put on 75mcg of levothyroxine.    
i dont trust my doctor,, i have asked for a referral to a specialist,, he doesnt think we need it.
what are we looking at here?  should i be concerned?

WOW no...I dont know how she is functioning. I'm pregnant right now and my TSH moved up to 21.7 and he jumped my meds up to  125mcg, they lowered down 7.2 and he raised me again because he wants them even lower so he raised me up to 150mcg, I'm glad to hear that you have apt with Endo Specialist, I was having alot of troubles with heart palpations and so fourth I couldn't even imagine levels being that high. Wow....is she even able to walk and breath?  How is the poor thing even functioning?
75 mcg is a very small amount of medicine, but your dr may not want to jump start her too quickly....hmmmm. It also look as though she has Hashimoto's Autoimmune disease and so it is going to be imperative that she she recieves proper treatment and her TSH be supressed  to a .50-1.0 in order for her body to heal.
I would ask the doctor if he understands hashimotos and realizes the need to supress the tsh as such. Also ask him why he only started her at 75 mcg and if he plans on testing her levels every 6 weeks until she is optimum. If not I would find a thyroid specialist.

yes,, thats the number that came back,, the lab sent a note saying they ran it twice because they were a bit shocked too....
just got more results today,,
tsi  204      normal 0-129
tpo  911   normal 0-34

finally got a referral to and endo,, but not till next week,,,
have you ever heard of a tsh that high?
