cant find anything that matches my tests

Almost 2 years ago I finally got my GP to run tests for my extremely hypOthyroid symptoms. It turns out I'm some sort of hypERthyroid.

My Free T3 was low 2.5, TSH also low <0.02 & Free T4 normal 1.45. My thyroid uptake scan at 24 hrs was 44%. The thyroid ultrasound shows enlarged thyroid gland w/ bilateral nodules. And an MRI of my pituitary shows nothing remarkable.

After being on varying levels of Tapazole (from 5 mg to 15 mg) for almost 2 years none of my symptoms have changed, well I don't get tremors anymore - but that's it.

So I finally went to an endo. At 10 mg of Tapazole my Free T3 is 2.27, TSH 3.47 & Free T4 1.0. The endo wants to wean me off of Tapazole back into hyperthyroidism before taking a look at RAI killing my thyroid. He thinks it's "classic Graves". Only problem is that my TSH AND Free T3 are low (naturally, without treatment) oh and I don't have any eye issues. My fear is that an endo will only treat what he knows & perhaps not look at the whole picture.

I just don't know where to go or who to ask advice from. No where can I find what low TSH and T3 may mean nor what sort of doc to visit.

I'm tired of slowing down my already slow metabolism, of gaining weight while always being hungry and exercising of being so sweaty & greasy on top of dry itchy rashy skin, of taking fiber supplements and occasionally anti-diuretics and half the time I can't remember anything. But at least it doesn't look like I'm going through DT's anymore since the tremors have stopped, but I would appreciate it if my hair stopped falling out.

Sorry for the vent, can anyone advise me where to go? Or what these results may represent? I found my endo through the Chicago magazine listing of top docs (I live in the Chicago suburbs), he just seems so brisk. He wants to "get me back to feeling good" - only problem is I haven't "felt good" in years. I'm only in my early 30s & am just looking at starting a family (not this year, but sometime soon).

I have 4 weeks till my next bloodwork to try to figure stuff out.

My apologies for my long first post. Thank you in advance for advice.

Sorry, it probably got lost in the babble - I just started going to an endo(crinologist). He's the brisk one that wants to wean me off of Tapazole. I could go to a number of endo's for multiple opinions.

Though I'm kind of wondering if an endo is the right specialist?

I don't have answers but what about going to an endocrinologist instead of a gp? Get a second opinion.
