contradiction with T3 T4 and TSH tests
T4free is .79 / T3free is 5.29/ TSH .21 / I take armor thyroid medicine. My doctor is saying that my thyroid test is high and we should reduce the armor thyroid medicine. I am tired, depressed, have dry skin, my hair is thinning, and I have gained a good deal of weight. These are not hypertyroid systems. What is happening with these tests?
I'm glad to see that your doc is actually taking the time to look at your T3 levels. Most won't. All they tend to look at is the TSH and T4.
Your doctor is right, some symptoms can be similar and some (few ) people can gain weight, When you take Armour the free T3 is the most important. Why you're doctor gave you Armour instead of Levothyroxin (hve you tried it?)? There are some people over here that take armour and can give you some more advice (Stella and Laura)
