Toxic Nodule

A thyroid upscan has revealed a "toxic nodule".  My blood work shows my T4 & TSH levels to be very low. I'm a little confused because everything I am reading indicates that a nodule will usually leade to hyperthyroid &  I seem to have Hypothyroid symptoms.
What can I expect for treatment options for the nodule? What if it is left untreated?

I'm off to see the endocrynologist now.
The confusing part is that I should have hyperthroid symptoms, but I don't. Instead I have the symptoms for hypothyroid.
What started this was unexplained weight gain in a short period of time.
I'll let you know what the doc says.
Thanks

OK, if your T4 is low your TSH should be high.  It is not.  So that would mean the toxic nodule is producing T3 which is causing your TSH to be low.  Low TSH = hyperthyroid.
I think the treatment options are meds to suppress it, surgery to remove it, or radioactive iodine to shut it down.   You should discuss it with your Dr.
You might get a clearer picture of what is going on if you get blood tests for TSH, Free T4 and Free T3.
