thanks for the response. Do you have any specific knowledge about rapeseed oil? It has a lot of natural vitamins and omegas so it sounds very healthful but will it affect thyroid in skincare? Does it make a difference if it is cold pressed and extra virgin? I'm being very specific...sorry.
Yes, they can. I had a thorough inspection of all my skincare products and only one had seaweed extract which contains iodine in it. I had only used it once so luckily I stopped.
My endo and I have discussed this and he has stated the research shows many products which contain oestrogens, goitrogenics and iodine can have an effect. Only when used long term though. They are taken in the skin through to the blood and into the body. Many molecules aren't big enough to do this but alot of the goitrogenic etc are able to.
To be on the safe side don't use it if you think it will be causing you any issues.
You can use it occasionally but just not for long term use.
I am a very huge fan of all natural products, always have been a Greenie, but since having thyroid disease have had to readjust my thinking!
