follicular neoplasm

I had a FNA that showed hurthle cells.  I then had a core biopsy that shows follicular neoplasm.
My whole body aches or burns - like my bones, or muscles - can't tell which, my heart rate is 97-124 while doing nothing, and if I walk up stairs 3 flights I get very short of breath (I used to do stairs a LOT, so this is strange).  I am in my mid 40s, tumor is 1.5cm and was accidently found because of a ct scan on my neck for an accident related condition.
Do you think my symptoms are related to my thyroid?  Is there other tests that might determine if this is cancer without surgery?  like the cold, or hot nodule thing, or a pet scan to see if it has spread elsewhere.  I would prefer to see if anything has spread, before having my thyroid removed, as I understand that treatment is not possible if the cancer has already metastisized.  what about a ultrasound blood flow test - are these good?

I don't have a copy of the latest core biopsy.  I have requested my records, as I didn't write down what the nurse told me over the phone.  They only scheduled me for a surgery consult, and I am not scheduled to talk to the endocrinologist again.
Would you suggest a second opinion?  Or the other tests that I mentioned before?

Do you have a copy of your FNA?  If so, can you tell us what is says exactly.  During the FNA did they get enough material to make a definitive diagnosis, other than follicular neoplasm.    What is your TSH level?  It is my understanding that, unfortunately for thryroid cells that show follicular architechture, the only sure way to tell it's cancerous is to remove.
