I have been on meds for hypothyroidism for about 2 years, have felt good at this dosage (which I increased to about a year ago) until about a month ago when I started having intermittent palpitations. I thought it was in my head for awhile (I'm 26, in good shape, etc.) but they have been getting worse and more frequent. Just recently my resting heart rate was over 100 beats/min almost all day, and also having arrythmias multiple times a day, easily winded, chest pains, etc. I went in and blood tests showed my TSH at low normal, free T3 normal and free T4 just barely too high (1.77, reference range goes up to 1.70). Also, my blood pressure, which is normally about 90/60 was 120/90. My dr. (here in Thailand) thinks I've gone a bit hyper and that's what's causing these symptoms. He decreased my dosage a little and will have me check back in a few weeks.
Could these numbers really be causing these extreme heart symptoms? Is this a typical recommendation or would dr.s in the states order more tests? I've never had heart issues before so this is new to me, and sometimes dr.s here don't really go by the book. Thanks!
