follucar cancer

hi michelle here every one i just got my results back and they found i had follucar neoplasm a cancer tumour only just found  the other day they only found out by microscope  these cancers are a good one right the average life span of this to live is a long time right funny thing my gp doesnt know much about this he got no letter .so i will be joining all you out there who have been through it i go back for complete surgery in 2 weeks not sure which date . my gp was astonished how fast i had to go back to hosp he thought that it would be a few months or so but they dont let these things wait do they. radiation how many times do u think i will have i got told cant be around people after rad but my dr thinks i can

hi michelle here again thanks for that help yeah my babys nearly 9 months old and hes on physio  as for me looks like my husband will need to be away from for a week why does my gp think i can come straight home after radiation with baby and him.

Hi Michelle.  Glad you posted this onto the forum.  There are others here who have had follicular cancer which is different than my papillary carcinoma.  Your type of cancer is a bit more aggressive than mine so don't let the doctors make you wait!

As for the radiation - please get to a good endocrinologist (do they have any near where you live??).  You will have to go through RAI at least once.  Yes, you do have to be away from people and pets for at least five days.  Ignore what your GP says on that - it sounds like he/she doesn't know much about thyroids.
