Increased TPO and Thy ab level

My lab results are suggestive of hypothyroidism. My blood pressure is high (130/ 95), but I don't have other symptom of hypothyroidism. I am 34 yrs male and my weight is 70 Kg. My lab results are:
TSH - 6.17 (Increased)
T4 - 0.87 (Normal)
TPO antibody - 314.9 (Increased)
THY antibody - 47.8 (Increased)
My doctor has suggested me to start Levothyroxine sodium tab (112 mcg). What you think, whether I have hoshimoto disease? should I take this medicine?

Your TSH is over range; by the way, the "new" recognized range for TSH is 0.3-3.0; however many labs and doctors still go by old ranges.

Your antibody levels are definitely high and your Free T4 (FT4) is barely within range.

It is more common for cholesterol levels to be high with thyroid issues, but you should do what you can to bring up your HDL.

I still think that 112 mcg levo is too much to start with.  I'd suggest that you talk to your doctor about starting with perhaps 1/2 that amount (or less), then work up.

Thanks for reply. Here i am giving the ref ranges, my HDL was also low but LDL is normal and doctor says this is also due to hypothyroidism.
My lab results are:

Free T4 - 0.87 (0.58- 1.64)
TPO antibody - 314.9 (<34)

HDL - 27 (40-60)
LDL - 106 (0-130)

I seems as though you do have Hashimoto's, judging by your antibody levels.  I think that's too high a dose of med to start with, though.  You should start low and work your way up in order to avoid problems with the med.  It's typical to start with something like 25 mcg, then up 50, and so on, with testing every few weeks between dosage changes, so you know where you're at.  I was only kept on a dosage for a week before being moved on the next one & I was scheduled for testing after 6 weeks.  The point is to not start with the entire 112 mcg all at once.  If nothing else, I'd get a pill splitter and cut the pills in 1/2 for at least a few days, just to get your body used to it.

I'd also like to know if that T4 is Free or Total and what the reference range is, please.

Yes it seems you do have hashi/Hypo with those results..The dosage you are starting off with im not sure..ill bump you up a bit so others might have more of an answer for you:) I started on 100mcg with  a TSH  of 144..so it seems a high dose for you to start..But as i said im not sure, someone will have a bit more knowledge on this for you..
