OT...school time again

My older son is a special needs child. The bus driver he has had in the past would NOT follow the special guidelines for him so I would take him to school every morning and he would ride the bus home in the pm.

Well this year my baby will start all day kindergarden at the same school. So Im a little nervous.

Would you believe the boys NEW bus driver just showed up at my door??? She makes a point of meeting all the little ones so their not as scared when school starts. She wanted to let me know that she knows the older one and his problems, assigns seats and where both will sit, how she does a buddy system for all new kids, and if it was ok for the boys to recieve stickers and suckers for good behavior.....etc...

how COOL is that????

That's wonderful of the bus driver. You are kind to compliment the driver. If you mail a little note of praise to her supervisor it will probably go into her personnel file .

WOW!  I have to stand out there to make sure my son's bus driver doesn't take off and throw him down before he gets seated!!!  I know, but school people won't listen to me, I've tried.  School started here last Wednesday, so they have already had 3 days of it.  All's well so far.

That was very cool of the bus driver. My nest door neighbor was my bus driver in high school so I was the first one on the bus and the last one off.I never learned to drive till after I got out of high school. Can you believe it?
good luck for the school year.

Kind of like the bus drivers for the older kids who makes it a point to try to reunite lost cellphones with the kids who own them! We gave her a Starbucks gift card last year as my daughter lost her phone 2X on the bus (slipped out of open zipper nice, huh?) ....... finally she seems better holding on to it esp. when I had her pay for the last upgrade as she wanted a fancier phone than the 2yr old one she had been using!

School starts Sept 6 here!
