I haven't had a chance to exercise yet- still so achy, but that is definitely something to watch for!
Terry,
Thanks for your input. I wonder if maybe my hb was slow before b/c I had a higher TSH with my own thyroid (but it was still considered "normal")?
My levels were checked about 3 weeks ago and were okay... not great. I'm on a new protocol (added T3 to my T4) and will have my labs drawn again at the end of October.
My primary doctor is new for me and she's not been involved in any of my thyroid drama, but my internist is awesome and I'll ask her. I certainly don't think I'm going to have a heart attack at any moment or anything like that. I don't feel like my heart is racing or anything. I woudln't have even noticed the pulse increase if I hadn't worn my heart monitor yesterday to the gym. (Just checked and my pulse is 60) I just have heard that thyroid meds can mess with your heart if you're overdosed, so it made me wonder. I'll probably just ask my internist at my next appointment next month, unless I start having problems.
Thanks for your input! MUCH appreciated!
I'm on 100mcg levoxyl and 10mcg cytomel per day (Cytomel is taken 2x a day at 5mcg each). How much higher is your pulse?
I didn't notice any faster heartrate after my TT, but mine was for Graves Disease (hyperactive), so my heart rate and blood pressure were pretty messed up to begin with.
It seems like 65-70 bpm is in the normal range for most folks, but I understand that compared to 55 bpm, it seems like a big jump. Have you had your thyroid levels checked recently? Hyperactivity can cause an increased heart rate. Do you have a good relationship with your primary doctor? It might be worth a phone call for the peace of mind.
Terry
Mine has seemed a little higher but thought I was just nervous.
What meds are you on ?
Dana
Wondering how to count my pulse?
