You have a small nodule on the upper portion of your left thyroid. The ultrasound determined that the nodule is cystic in nature and some of it appears solid. This is also known as a complex cyst. You'll need to have a radiologist who is an expert in thyroid nodules read your ultrasound report. You might need to have it biopsied to find out exactly what type of cells it contains.
Do your thyroid labs show thyroid disease and do your antibodies show Hashimoto's? Full thyroid labs are TSH, FT3, FT4. Antibodies are TPO/ab and TG/ab.
I have Hashimoto's and have nodules that have been biopsied. They are all benign. I have one that started out at 0.2 x 2.2 x 1.1 cm, but went down in size a lot when I started thyroid medication and as my antibodies increased. It kept getting smaller but now it's grown since the prior ultrasound because I had increased autoimmune activity and my antibodies increased a lot. This nodule is now 0.6 x 0.5 x 0.4 cm.
