Hi Marla,
I had a PT last year and had similar issues with anxiety and agitation.  It was explained to me by my endo that when surgery is done (or any trauma for that matter) to the thyroid, the gland can dump an excess of hormones into your bloodstream.  It can take one or two months for it to resolve itself back to normal levels.  I was hyperthyroid prior to surgery, but my symptoms were so much worse for a couple of months afterward.  Just give yourself time.  If you need to, ask your doc for an anti-anxiety med.  It really helped me.

How long ago was the surgery?  If you had thyroid tests done since then, please post the results and reference ranges.
