partial thyroidectomy

I had a partial thyroidectomy about 2 weeks ago.  I still have some minor swelling.  Is it ok to ice the area at night for swelling?

Thanks

I had a partial back in May. I think it would be fine to put ice on it, but make sure you place a towel between the ice and your skin.  Also, I started to put cream for scars on it. I wanted to buy Mederma (I think that's the name) ,but there wasn't any in the store, so I bought a cream called ScarZone. The directions say to massage it in for a couple of mins two times a day.  These creams have SPF 15 so at least there is a little sunscreen there to help. I still try not to let the sun get my neck.
Sorry I rambled on, but I like to help when I can.
I had swelling for about 9 weeks. It takes that long for it all to go down. It's been 3 months since my surgery and I still have this tight/fullness feeling in my throat. So, if you have that feeling now and it continues, just know that you aren't the only one experiencing that.
All in all, just take it easy and take good care of yourself.
Linda
