2)  2.66
3)  no sample
4)  6.94 high
5)  5.74 high
6)  no sample

recent prolactin #s: (range 2.8-26.7)
1)  52 high
2)  49.23 high
3)  46.8 high
4)  48.9 high
5)  49.7 high
6)  53.1 high

antibodies:
tpo - high 749 (0-34)
tgab - high 38 (0-20)

symptoms:
typically warm
basal temps norm
tons of energy!
occas heart palps (congenital murmur)
weight loss - change of diet
very occas tingling in wrists
rash - previous 6 yrs on thighs, arms, belly - now healing
dry eyes (seasonal?)

thyroid -
enlarged, soft
5 nodules - 1.5 - 3.9 cm
biopsy of all nodules scheduled for 11/8/07.

dx:
subclinical hypo-t  - hashimoto's
hyperprolactinemia - poss related to hypo-t

i was informed when antibodies are present, tsh is "useless."

got script for 50 mcg synthroid today, but haven’t had a chance to fill it yet. concerned about symptoms being more hyper-t than hypo-t, and what med might do.

i feel the best i've ever felt!

any and all help is appreciated.

back again. haven't got anywhere lately with the docs. waiting for appointments for second opinion.

actually, i could use some input concerning which type of doc to see first.

medical endocrinologist (m-endo) directed me to reproductive endocrinologist (r-endo). and in turn, the r-endo directed me to a m-endo. then, just for fun, another doc suggested a neurological endocrinologist.

the big question is: which caused which? did the thyroid cause the prolactinemia? or did a pituitary tumor cause the tsh to rise?

ps. i have confirmed hashimoto's.

any suggestions where to start?

i'm still feeling great.

(i just posted this to dr lupo)

surprise!
went for the biopsies today. or so i thought.
the tech and doc questioned the previous u/s. it appears that all the nodules...are not!
both u/s indicate heterogenous appearance.
now it's just watch and wait, and another u/s in about 4-6 months.
will check with endo, gyn and ent for further instructions concerning synthroid, or other.

thanks for the good wishes!

With Hashimotos your levels can be all over the place. Your body is attacking the gland so sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  I believe that by putting you on the meds the docs are trying to stabilize your levels a bit.  I had Hashi and went from hyper to hypo, etc... I bounced back and forth, but finally ended up as hypo.

Good luck with your biopsy. My fingers are crossed for you.

great question! thyroid has been enlarged for 10-15 years. fill-in nurse for my pcp ordered these tests. no one else ever bothered to look at anything but tsh, so they never got the complete picture.

i just went along the the fill-in nurse, figuring she was barking up the wrong tree.

whether it was intuition or cya, i'm not sure.

after the biopsy tomorrow, we talk mri w/ gadolinium. risky for me, though.

back to the blood work...could it be that i am on a swing from hyper to hypo???

Curious.....if you're feeling great, what symptom was it that brought you to the doctor and initiated all these tests?
