thanks tamra for the info...i have anxiety in the past but this appears different. I really hope that this stabilizes soon. I forgot to mention these symptoms that I get seem "cyclical" in nature. I can go for a week and feel ok, then wake up one day and it all hits. SO weird. That kind of goes with what you said about flipping between hypo and hyper symptoms. thanks!
Yes, your TSH is now high and YES, anxiety and mood swings DO go with Hashimoto's hypothyroidism. 90 percent of people in developed countries with hypothryoidism are actually due to the auto-immune disease, Hashimoto's.
With Hashimoto's in the early stages, we will swing up and down. High TSH, low TSH, mood swings, constipation to diarrhea, fatigue, to energetic and heart palps. EVERY part of our body suffers when our thyroids do not work properly.
Get your TGab and TPOab antibody tests to determine if Hashi is to blame. This disease often occurs before/after childbirth for women.
New studies link gluten to this disease. Since giving up gluten, my antibody attacks have stopped and I am feeling MUCH better. Read my journal for more. Below were my symptoms prior to treatment. Keep in mind, my attacks went on for about six years after the birth of my child do to the mistakes of many CLUELESS doctors.

Some of these issues, I have now found out are linked to adrenal fatigue. Many of us Hashis will have adrenal fatigue, yet sadly, many doctors do not test for this properly with hypo patients. The 24 hour saliva test is currently the most reliable method. A blood cortisol test will tell the doctor your adrenal levels at one time during the day, and those fluctuate dramatically in the Hashi patient whose adrenals are struggling to regulate.
Also be advised that many of us will feel terrible due to the fact that we have low vitamins D, b12, magnesium and iron. I take over 1,000 IU D daily plus a 250 strength magnesium with each meal. I take 1,000 strength B12 plus iron.
DO NOT take any vitamins within four hours of taking thyroid hormone pills.
Take care..
:) Tamra
