Thanks very much doctor, but i know for sure i did not have the bump as a child.I noticed it as a teenager or better still when i was in high school but back then i had full hair and and it covered it so i did not think much of it plus i grew up in Africa where medical care was not the best. But it looks like over the years, it has been exposed and it is really making me uncomfortable but to be homest with you, i dont have any sypmptoms at all whatsoever.
Thanks once again and i will follow your advice.
HI,
Do you experience other symptoms? Craniosynostosis can be defined as the
premature closing of one or more of the normally present bony gaps between the
different bones of the skull. The surgical treatment of craniosynostosis has been transformed by the development and applications of craniofacial techniques to reshape the skull and upper face in the infant, usually 4 to 8 months in age. It is difficult to not have this treated at an earlier age because it could have effects on the pressure inside the skull and the brain.
Have this evaluated further by your doctor or be referred to a head and neck surgeon for proper diagnosis. A complete physical examination and your medical history will help with the underlying cause. Take care and keep us posted.
