Thank you for the first time in over 1 year I now know 100% more than I did before. It was a Neurologist that gave me 2 of the tests, the same one you discharged me 3 days after I saw him. He gives me 30 days emergency help only so when tests on MRI'S came in not only would he not speak to me but the help was hanging up on me after a few days. If I put down all of the damage from my cervical, thoracic, and lumbar, it truly is criminal, but I will heal physically but the head trauma is what doesn't heal and not having one medical professional would even say there was anything wrong when showing results they would just also discharge me. Now that Medicare turned there back on me, I don't have a prayer to get any help until now thank you so much, you have no idea what it means to me, to have something to go on. I know its confusing information because of not getting the proper tests and my talking and writing skills are horrible. You did a great job in being very honest and it makes perfect sense to me and helped me alot to finally have something to try to work with. I had total loss of memory for over 3 months, now I have short term memory loss that comes and goes all day and in the last few months been having long term memory. Like Alzheimer's it comes and goes. The headaches and pain in my head are 24 - 7 in only gets bad once in awhile, if you have moderate pain you get use to it, at least I do I used to race motorcycles. Now if I can work on the white matter thing then it will all make sense. Oh and another thing the hospitals will not do anything for me to. I apoligize for the rambling but its the head injury. I tell this to everbody if your ever in a severe accident and get hurt really bad hope to God its your fault not the other person because this is what happens to people, when you are severely injured and its not your fault your insurance company will tell everybody that they are not going to pay let the car insurance company pay! I am talking Humana Medicare this is how they work, and its also how they work with their regular Humana plans that people pay hundreds of dollars a month for. Thanks again you were a great help I can't thank you enough.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
It is really strange. Cortical volume loss is usually seen in Alzheimer's. Hyperintense areas can come up in MRI in MS, microvascular disease, some types of headaches, Alzhiemer’s disease, old age and even due to traumatic brain injury (TBI). It is difficult to differentiate the white spots due to one disease from the white spots due to another. Patient history and other parameters are taken into consideration and co related with the MRI picture.
I suggest you either go to a hospital that specializes in trauma or consult a neurologist with all these reports and a brief summary of your symptoms.
Take care!
