3 weeks of low grade temp

3 weeks ago I was working and felt my face flush and the top of my ears burn so I checked my temp and it was 100.4. Since then, everyday, it goes up to between 100.1 and 100.8. My morning temp before rising is b/t 99.5-99.9. I've had some forehead headaches which last all day, but those are decreasing in frequency. Because of an abdominal surgery scheduled before this, they had me check my CBC and my monocyte count was twice normal. The surgery was cancelled until "this thing" resolves.

What would cause the normal temp to be reset to the 99's and then flux to above 100? My husband and I honeymooned in St. Lucia 3 months ago.

I also this past week have been plaqued by constant left eyelid twitching (either top or bottom at a time) and left facial heaviness, not really pain.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Get yourself a tuberculosis test. Dr. Nooper's advice was good. TB is rising it's ugly head and your symptoms are a flag. Probably not, but if you catch it early it can be overcome.

My doc did check a mono spot, it was neg. After that, I was told I really didn't have a fever unless it was above 101 F and that it was probably allergies (which I really don't get, ever).

Hi,

How are you?
The presence of fever and monocytosis indicates an infection. The common infections that can cause fever with monocytosis are tuberculosis, brucellosis, listeriosis, and infectious mononucleosis.
Other causes include kala azar, malaria and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Certain autoimmune diseases like lupus, inflammatory bowel disease.
Please discuss these possibilities with your doctor and under go further evaluation.
Take care!
