Aching bones all over

3 Years ago I had breast cancer and Im still alive, went thru chemo and raidiation. I have had pain in the breast area and where they took my lymph nods ever since. Now I have the on set of pain in my bones all of them at the same time. I get to where I start hurting all over my body then, I get so cold I can't stand it, I crawl under my electric blanket on high to get warmed up crying from the pain the entire time. I take pretty strong pain pills everyday but they don't make this pain stop. I have to just lay there covered up for about an hour, then, I begin to sweat the pain will slowly go away. I wake up at night with no blankets on at all and my pillow is soaked from sweating in my sleep.
I wake up at least 4 time a night because of pain. I have had hypothyroide now for 18 years. I feel like I have bone cancer. Does anyone have some kind of answer for me? My Dr just took blood today so I don't know the results yet. She suspects autoamunine problem. I am scared because of my breast cancer .

Make an appointment to see your doctor and discuss with him the possibility that you may be having an adverse reaction to the statin medication.

I live in the UK and there was a programme a few years ago about how some people do have really bad side effects from the statins.  My next door neighbour had a very bad reaction when he was started on statins and had to stop taking them.  Because of the severe side effects my husband will not take the risk to take them, despite the doctor trying to encourage him to take them.

Bad cholesterol levels can be reduced by diet and exercise.

The statins are only one possibility to your problem, and you do really need to have a thorough medical examination, especially since your pain from the your op has never subsided.

Let me know how you get on.

Best wishes.

Sorry to hear that you are so unwell.

I am glad to know that the doctor has taken a blood test to check for things.  Do you know what he is checking for in the blood?  I presume it could be to check your thyroid levels and to find out if you do have an autoimmune disorder affecting your bones.

If you are sill experiencing the pain where the cancer was removed, you still need to pressurise your oncologist or your doctor to do further investigations.

I am not an expert on cancer problems, but my aunty at the age of 73 had to have part of her breast removed due to cancer.  She is also on medication so that the cancer does not return.  I know also that she was put on calcium and Vitamin D because of lack of calcium in her body which leads to osteoporosis.  She has had to stop taking the Vit D, because she experienced a lot of pain in her joints and felt very ill.

Do keep going back to your doctor if you are unwell, otherwise they will not know that things are not right with you.

Once you get your blood results back, the doctor will be able to see if it is because your thyroid medication may need to be adjusted.  If everything does come back normal, get the doctor to review any medications that you are already taking.  Some people cannot tolerate taking statins for example.

Hope you get some answers soon so that you are able to be treated properly and enjoy life without so much pain.

Best wishes.
