EXCESSIVE FACIAL SWEATING!

I am writing in reference to my problem with sweating very badly in my facial area. I have been addicted to  opiates since I was 16y/o, I am 29 years old now. I have recently got in a methadone treatment program with the intent of regaining control of my life. I am currently taking 50mg a day with success of overcoming my addiction and cravings. I have developed a new health problem that is very annoying due to my line of work. I am a server at a very nice restaurant and my sweating is causing alot of problems for me. Do you know what might be causing this to happen and what I can do to prevent this from happening. Also I sometimes have problems swallowing thought that info might be helpful.Thank you for your time and for any help you can give me relating to this problem.

Hello,

I started the methadone treatment 2 months ago. I also had the excessive sweating occur. I was told by a few doctors and an informative methadone treeatment video that it was caused by the methadone. I was told to decrease my dose, if possible, to help stop the sweating.

Hello,

Excessive sweating is called hyperhydrosis. Excessive sweating in the face can result from an overactive sympathetic nervous system, sometimes due to substance abuse. Mild social stimuli with stress can cause excessive facial sweating which can also involve the scalp and the neck. Excessive facial sweating may become exacerbated during social contacts and other important social activities. This can lead to being self-conscious and having low self-esteem. Endoscopic thoracic sympathicotomy is a very effective way to treat severe facial sweating.Pls discuss this option with your doctor.

I react with nausea and facial sweating when I am in a very warm room or when there is no air movement.
