If anyone could give me any kind of insight on what's going on with me I would love you, because I feel a bit like I'm going crazy.
I'm a person that very very rarely gets sick, until recently that is.
Around October of last year I had a chronic cough that seemed like it would never go away. January comes, and finally, just as the couch fades away I get a fever and a cold. A few days later, when I thought I was good to go again, I notice in the mirror my tongue had gotten this gross, brown coating on it.
After that time, I lost my voice for about a week, and though it came back, the coating on my tongue, which had mostly turned white, remained. And now it's May and still I have this coating on my tongue.
Along with it, I constantly feel this difficulty swallowing, like there's something poking at my throat. If that goes away for a bit, instead I feel a popping feeling in my neck or ears. I constantly feeling a strange, tightness or dizzying pain also from my neck to my ear. All of this is located only on the left side.
I went to three doctors over the course of the last few months, the last prescribed antibiotics for tonsillitis, but still the uncomfortable feeling remains, as well as the coated tongue. I've also tried every home remedy, which, while some work for a short time, the coating always comes back.
What... Should I do? Doctors all seem to think this is something that will pass, but after 5 months i can't help but feel worried.
If it helps, I'm a teacher also and have to interact with kids a lot.
