Concerned about ob/gyn symptoms

Hello,

I have had an array of strange symptoms over the last 9 months or so and wonder if anyone has any insights.

In January I had an abnormal pap (atyp squamous AND atyp glandular cells) as well as being HPV+. I had a colpo, cervical biopsy, ECC, and pipelle endometrial biopsy. All were benign or generally normal although there was some visible lesion on the cervix. Was told to repeat pap in 6 months and will do so in June.

I have also been having pain in my right side so they arranged for a TVUS in January which I had after all my biopsies. I had this about 12 days after my period. They found two cysts (one complex at just over  5 cm and another at about 4 cm). They told me to repeat in 6 weeks.

I went to see my GP to go over my results because I was never able to talk to my ob/gyn - only her nurse who didn't know anything more than what the doctor told her. My GP was concerned that on the TVUS my endometrium was 1.1 cm which she thought was "borderline." If that was as thick on the next TVUS she'd want to find out more. My ob/gyn did not mention the endometrium at all.

In addition to these test results, I've had some abnormal bleeding (more closely spaced periods when I'm usually pretty regular). More of an issue is that I've been having menstrual-like cramping throughout the month. It comes and goes and I don't see a pattern to it. Sometimes it's a day, other times it lasts for two weeks. However, when I do have it, it is uncontrolled by aleve or motrin (unlike regular cramps). It also makes me really nauseous.

Of course, my main concern is that folks are missing something with my endometrium given the bleeding, cramping, AGUS, and thickening. I've read that pipelle biopsies can be negative but my doctors either seem totally unconcerned or willing to wait for a few months to see what happens.

I am 42 yo.

Best wishes!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Polymenorrhea or bleeding from vagina more than once a month could be due to several causes such fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, uterine polyps, hormonal imbalance, thyroid problems and bleeding disorders. It could also be due to an IUD implant if you have one.
It can also be a part of severe pelvic inflammatory disorder. STDs like Chlamydia and gonorrhea too can cause this.
A prolonged bleeding of any kind from the vagina can be due to a sore or ulcer, endometritis or infection of endometrium of uterus, cervicitis or infection of cervix, fibroids, vaginal infections, vaginal polyp, endometriosis and cancer of either cervix, uterus or ovary. You would need to get some investigations done including hormone analysis, PAP smear, ultrasound and maybe CT scan of pelvis.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. You need to discuss this with your gynecologist. Take care!
