Son has elevated Rbc, hemoglobin and hematocrit

My son recently had bloodwork done. All three of the Rbc, hematocrit and hemoglobin levels were higher than normal range but the doctor doesn't think that they're high enough to be concerned. I know these are signs of polycythemia which scares me. Will my sons levels eventually increase until tests need to be done? Is he at greater risk? I know that the sooner something like that is caught the better. I need to know how vigilant I need to be. His stats are listed below. Thank you.
My son is 11 years old.
Rbc 5.26
Hematocrit 42.2
hemoglobin 15.3
