Really bad mucus build up

I often get a really bad mucus build up in the middle of my throat that doesn't go away with gurgling salty water or eating things like toast or drinking hot drink but I can feel it in my throat moving up and down it makes me feel like I can hardly breath and it's driving me insane I also suffer thyroid problems gastritis anxiety and depression but my doctor puts it down to anxiety every time I go and see him I also have really bad neck and throat tenderness that is a painful and aches which I start to get a headache when it's really bad I am also a 24 year old woman who has had thyroid problems since I was 16 all the other symptoms have developed since March 2014 I have been for lots of tests such as lung function test endoscopy about 5 ecg and 3 cheat x rays and they can't see a problem and I keep getting heart palpitations and fluttering in my chest and answers would be much appreciated

Thank you I woke up this morning with a terrible headache been sick mucus stuff which was frothy white with a tinge of lime green and I have terrible pressure in my head ears nose eyes and throat and feel like I can barley breath I am also experiencing really bad sharp pains in my neck on left side next to my throat I also have really bad back of neck discomfort and pain which feels really tender

It would be a good idea for you to see an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) doctor. If your current doctor is not helping you you should find another one. My previous GP also said that everything is anxiety related. I didn't believe that so I found another doctor who referred me to the specialist and he found out that the sinuses were my problem. You just have to be persistent.

Thank you for replying to my post no the doctors haven't checked my sinuses as he keeps putting it down to my anxiety but I'll see a different doctor next time I go

Has anybody check your sinuses? I have polyps in my sinus which cause congestion and post nasal drip. I'm running to the bathroom frequently to cough up mucus from my throat. You could try using a neti pot and see if your symptoms will improve at all. Acid reflux is also capable of giving you a sore throat and cough.

And tightness in the neck area
