Frequent stomach gas and pain over months

So I've had uncomfortable, sometimes painful stomach gas for several months now, usually two or three times a week.  It usually hits at some point between noon and the afternoon, and lasts 4-6 hours, sometimes longer.  Yesterday, though, it lasted a very long time, and was still noticeable when I woke up this morning.  I've been having green stool somewhat often (also rarely some blood, but it's always bright red and I was diagnosed with a hemorrhoid two years ago, which has been on and off since then).  I've not been able to associate the pains with any particular foods, despite trying to isolate it.  I think I have regular bowel movements, but I'm still noting those to see if they really are regular.

Until about February, maybe March this year, I only very rarely had stomach discomfort of any kind, so this is worrying me a great deal.  I've tried taking Lefax (a Simethicone drug), but two pills didn't seem to help at all.  My girlfriend gave me chamomile tea, which she says should help, but that didn't do anything for me either.  Because it's all new and frequent, and doesn't seem associated to any foods, I'm terrified it could be something serious, though I'm 20 years old, and have no history in the family of serious stomach illnesses.  Can anyone give me some advice?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You could be suffering from an inflammatory bowel condition such as Celiac Disease/Ulcerative Colitis/Irritable Bowel Syndrome/ Crohn’s disease. All these result in tender abdomen, loose stool or loose stools alternating with constipation, abdominal distention, cramps etc. Parasites in the gut like threadworm, tape worm, giardiasis etc can behave this way. Hence a stool test is a must. Problems of gall bladder and liver or that of pancreas too cannot be ignored.
Take a late night snack. Raise head end of bed. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. Take probiotics with your meals. Walking around also helps clear gas.
Consult a gastroenterologist. Hope this helps. Take care!
