10 years ago my husband and I got pregnant the very 1st month we tried and went on to have a healthy boy. Very shortly after our son was born my husband went on Propecia. 5 years later we started trying again to no avail whatsoever... until I became pregnant Nov. 08. It just so happens my husband was off Propecia for about 3 weeks when I conceived. Unfortunately on Jan 4 I miscarried.
I became pregnant again a month and a half ago. My husband said he was taking Propecia only every couple of days or so (as he has become worried about it). I miscarried again a few days ago.
I am wondering if this could be the reason we were unable to conceive all those years and if the Propecia had affected his sperm quality to the point it could not become a healthy embryo? Have you heard anything like this?
Also, ever since I became pregnant in Nov. of 08, I have had constant twinges or slight pressure in the area where my left ovary is located. It hasn't become worse but it is there almost every day. And during this latest miscarriage, as it was happening, that area did become fairly painful. I wonder if this could be connected to the miscarraiges.
My doctor didn't seem too concerned. She did try to look at that ovary with a sonogram but was unable to see it because my bowel was in the way. She also told me 2 miscarriages in a row isn't necessarily anything to worry about but that three would be. I want to try again as I feel my time is running out (I am 37) but I don't want to miscarry yet again.
Any ideas??? Thank you!
