What could cause elevated heart rate and blood pressure in a healthy 14 year old?

My son is 14. He is thin and healthy. Other than the occasional cold or having the flu a month and a half ago he has been very healthy. He has been feeling bad for three days and we took him to the doctor. They found his resting heart rate to be 150 BPM and his blood pressure was up to 156 over 85. He is in the hospital right now but they seem stumped so far. They have given him 5 bags of IV fluid and done an ultrasound, a chest xray and tons of blood tests. His heart rate seems to be normal when he is asleep but when he is awake and just laying in the bed it goes up to at least 125. If he gets up to use the bathroom it has gone up to 183. He has no fever or dizziness but does get a little nauseous when he eats. If nayone has any ideas what to check I would love to hear them.

Anxiety may be responsible too. I am sure the doctors will take good care. And meanwhile you be strong and give my love, care and blessings to the young man.

He is obviously severely dehydrated.  This is the reason for the blood pressure abnortmalities. Ask your doctor for the reason for this, There are several possible etiologies.
